The Aureus hotel, located on the beach of “Triscina di Selinunte”, with its spacious terrace sliding into the sea, makes our guests feel like upon the deck of a ship.
The environment evokes the extraordinary stories written by the Sicilian writers and poets; the murmur of the sea evokes the sirens’ sweet and lured singing.
It’s the ideal place where the lovers of culture, nature, relax and tradition can spend their holiday. The hotel borders on the most important and impressive Archaeological Site in Europe, that of “Selinunte”, a Greek colony founded in 650 B.C. (Diodoro Siculo). Some temples are far 1000 metres from the hotel; who enjoys doing trekking can reach them on foot by the beach.
From the hotel you can get to and visit several interesting cultural, archaeological and naturalistic sites in the province of Trapani, like Mothia (ancient Phoenician colony); Trapani and the “Way of Salt” to Marsala; Erice and Segesta (both founded by the Elimi); Scopello (with its marvellous rock at the sea); the Natural Reserve “Le Grotte di S. Ninfa” (with the sixteenth Rampinzeri Castle) and the “Zingaro” (trough its row paths you can reach the sea climbing up the mountains); in the province of Agrigento: the Greek Temple Valley in Agrigento; Sciacca (ancient colony of Selinunte, called “Therme Selinuntinae” by the Romans).
The Mediterranean weather, mild and temperate, also in winter time, it’s another reason why to come to and spend your holiday in the Western Sicily.
Our 20 rooms, supplied with bathroom, TV, air- conditioning and simply furniture will give you all the comfort.
From the terrace our guests can directly enter the equipped beach. The low livel of the sea is particularly safe for children.
Meetings, conventions and congresses can be organized both inside and in the terrace.
In the restaurant you can taste the typical Sicilian dishes – fish and meat based – exalted by some valuable local wines of the “Ferreri” wine shop.
